Paul Flynn – Lidl Ireland

The nice folk at Chemistry recently gave me the opportunity to photograph celebrity chef Paul Flynn of The Tannery in Dungarvan, Co Waterford . The shoot took place in Paul’s cooking school just around the corner from The Tannery Restaurant, and after a relaxed shoot we had the added bonus of a delicious meal to finish off the day. Paul has recently become an ambassador for Lidl ireland.

Happy New Year. I have kicked off the new year with a studio project combining my photography with my love of the movies. The premise is simple. Ask the sitter to pick his/her favourite movie, pop them in the scene, shoot it, watch as the film is reinvented with the fan firmly in place. Want to get involved – drop me a line.

ICAD Upstarts II

Thanks to Elaine (who runs the upstarts programme) I continued my association with the ICAD crew last night when I photographed the ICAD/Upstarts opening night exhibition in South Studios.

Packed to the rafters with creative talent from all disciplines this was a very enjoyable evening for all.

Recently I offered my photographic services to this years group in the 2011 ICAD Upstart Programme. I was lucky enough to work with Laura Rooney and Judith Gannon. The result is the excellent “If creativity is the drug” concept which we shot a few days ago (pic below). The ICAD Awards Exhibition can be found here, so definitely go along to see the best and brightest of Irish creative talent.

The Common Tapir

I am fascinated by the common Tapir. A grand animal with an even grander snout. I found a small model tapir in a toy shop. I take it everywhere, now and then I put the little fella in various un-tapir like situations. He is, as yet unnamed.

Musical Youth Foundation

Run by the hardest working man in show business, Chris Maher, the Musical Youth Foundation founded in 2009 as part of Dublin City Soul Festival’s vision to provide every child with access to a musical education. I have worked with Chris on many occasions, the latest being the ‘No Tent Required’ weekend. An alternate to the electric picnic. Here is a shot I took of the lovely, crowd flirtingly, wonderful and talented Mirenda Rosenberg. It was a stone groove my man.
